Jags Darjeeling tea originates from the Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India. It is available in various forms, including black, green, white, and oolong. When brewed correctly, it produces a light-bodied, pale infusion with a floral fragrance. Jags Darjeeling orthodox tea is crafted from a small-leaf variety known as Camellia sinensis, and it is traditionally prepared as black tea. Following the implementation of the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection Act, 1999) in 2003, Darjeeling tea became the first Indian product to be awarded a GI tag in 2004-05 by the Indian Patent Office.
**HISTORY**
Tea cultivation in Darjeeling commenced in 1841, initiated by Mr. Arthur Campbell, who imported seeds from China. His experiments with tea plantations in the region inspired others to follow suit. JAGS Darjeeling orthodox tea is renowned for its superior quality.
